I never paint dreams or nightmares. I paint my own reality.

---Frida Kahlo

Hi! I'm Hollie Murphy. I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on Christmas day, 1977. My family moved back to Oregon not long after and I've pretty much been here ever since.
I currently reside in the beautiful and bountiful ( literally translated as "Heart of the Valley") Corvallis, Oregon with my wonderful husband and amazing son.
I've been an artist and "maker of stuff" for as long as I can remember. If I'm not creating something with my hands, I feel simply, incomplete. I am mostly self taught but have been inspired and ignited by many a thing along life's road thus far. I was also lucky enough to be born into a family of artists, I have an award-winning fine artist/tattoo artist for a brother, the other brother is a photographer. My father was an artist and crafter as well as my mother, who just so happened to have one of the very first craft booths at the Eugene Saturday market!
I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon and later ( in my teens) began to paint with both watercolor and acrylics. I've operated an ETSY shop since 2006, selling my eco-friendly creations (mostly accessories) in the U.S. and around the world. My other hobbies include growing and making medicine from herbs, reading, camping, aromatherapy, sewing, crafting, fiber arts, collecting vintage clothes and furniture and thriftstore  treasure hunting!  I have a great respect for our mother earth and an unbreakable spiritual connection to her as well and it's every day that I am inspired by life and it's quirkiness, pain, awkwardness and beauty.
